Bachelor of Philosophy

LCI offers a three-year B.A. in Philosophy affiliated to DeSales University, Allentown, USA. Successful students receive their B.A. certificate from DeSales University.

The programme contains 109 credits across six semesters. Lectures, discussions, seminars, extension lectures, assignments and papers cover systematic philosophy, Western and African philosophy, religion, human and social sciences.

Formators’ Course

Designed for religious and priests in formation ministry, future formators, rectors, novice masters and directresses, spiritual directors, vocation promoters and community leaders.

The programme develops the four pillars suggested by the Church: spiritual, intellectual, pastoral and human formation. It includes African formation contexts, scripture, theology, religious life, spirituality, psychology and counselling.

Catechetical Course

For catechists and lay people engaged in parish or sub-station ministry who have not previously completed catechetical training. It provides sound knowledge of Christian doctrine, Sacred Scripture and spirituality.

Training prepares participants for evangelisation and leadership in parishes, sub-stations and Small Christian Communities, and supports parishes in deepening the faith of the laity.

Pastoral Animation

LCI trains personnel for evangelisation and pastoral care through mission-oriented Swahili, retreats, catechetical training, seminars for catechists, teachers and couples, and interreligious dialogue.

Other areas include pastoral counselling, interpersonal relationships, formation, Bibliolog, and renewal programmes for religious and priests.

Juniorate Programme

A dedicated programme supporting young religious in their human, spiritual and community formation. Current dates and application requirements are available from the Director.
